Nora- 5 months!

Nora has hit some big milestones this month- all before she turned 6 months old!  She cut her first and second teeth.  She learned how to sit up on her own.  She scoots or rolls where ever she wants (or doesn't want) to go, and she's pulled her self up on a laundry basket once or twice.  She tried her first bite of solid foods, which was hilarious.  Her face was priceless!  Her hair grows and grows and grows.  She is a happy baby.  We love her!

My Little Artists

Oh, these girls!  They love to color and draw.  Here is some of their latest work.

Cecilia drew this dinosaur from the model for her friend at school.  I thought it was excellent!

Lilly Jeanne drew this "map to Mamma and Pops' house".  Seems pretty accurate to me.

Fries February Family Selfies

I think I have way more photos of me with my kids than ever before thanks to my new phone (which I am loving!).  So here's the family in February.

Master Bathroom

We finally have a master bathroom!  We've technically always had this space, but it was not desirable when we moved in, and it was easier to use the main bathroom.  Jon gutted the bathroom back when we did the furnace about a year ago.  This project goes back a while.  We've been wanting to redo this space for a while, but you see we wanted to use the space to its fullest potential.  While it did have a shower in it when we bought the house, it was so tiny that I wouldn't even dare try to shave my legs in there, and Jon would hit his head on the shower head.  It was a 32x32 shower that had no light in it at all.  It was awful.  The reason it was so small was because the flue vent for the furnace was going through the house right behind the shower, along with the vent for the water heater.  So in order to redo the bathroom, first we had to replace the furnace, then we had to move the vent for the water heater into the walls to get a good sized shower, now its 48x36!  Jon put so much time into this space, and he did such a great job.  He finished the plumbing and electrical, poured a custom shower pan, tiled, installed all the fixtures, and he did it with love (mostly).  I love this space in our house.  It really is the only adult space we have right now.  The children are not allowed in our bathroom, and I kind of like it that way.

We found the CD of pictures from the realtor from when we bought the house, luckily it had a picture of the bathroom in the original condition.  This is as good as it gets for the "before" picture.

Jon was so happy to demolish the lovely gold glittered sink, leaky toilet, and tiny shower.

After the furnace was finished, Jon removed the old furnace vent, and moved the water heater vent into the walls.  This required some of the drywall to be cut from the closet behind the shower.  Then he framed in the new shower pan.  SO BIG!

Then the tiling began!  We chose to keep the palate simple and modern because it is not a very big space.  This also makes it easy to change the color scheme in the bathroom with accessories and towels.

The finished product!!!!

Hammonds Candy Factory

Lilly Jeanne, Nora, and I got to visit the Hammond's Candy Factory with my Mom's group from church (Cecilia was at school).  I had never been before, and it was pretty sweet!  Lilly enjoyed it, and seeing her little friends.  The factory makes tons (literally) of hard candies every day, along with chocolates and other goodies.  Of course, we brought some yummy treats home too!

Valentines Mustache

We didn't do much for Valentines this year.  Usually I make dinner for Jon and I.  This year we opted for Red Robin to go.  I did make pink pancakes for breakfast, and the girls got little valentines from Mom and Dad.

Lilly and Cecilia had their Valentines parties at school the day before.  on the way home Cecilia was riffling through her box and then said "look Mom!"  This is what I saw in the rear view mirror.  HA!

My Little Valentines

I started a tradition on Cecilia's first Valentines Day of taking her photo and sending out a Valentines card to family and friends.  This year continued the tradition.  So, here are a few favorite pictures from the Valentine session and the Valentine for 2014.  Happy Valentines Day!!

And just for fun, here are the Valentines from past years...
