Fluers

*My head ache has subsided after 4 and a half weeks.  I am so thankful, and I hope and pray that it was some fluke thing and I never ever have to go through that again.  Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.*

The flowers in my garden and the lilacs in the back yard are in full bloom, and oh my, are they beautiful.  They make me smile, and Cecilia loves them too.  She asks almost daily to have her picture taken with them.  I hope they make you smile too.  I wish you could smell the lilacs with me over a glass of ice tea.  If your in the area, pop by and do so.  Oh, and I've decided I really like taking pictures of flowers.  They sit still and don't mind how long I snap my camera at them ; )

Headache

It has been 4 weeks today.  4 weeks of a headache.  A migraine that just won't leave.  It started when Jon got a cold, then I got a sinus infection.  I had antibiotics (the good stuff) and the sinus infection went away, but the headache remained.  It has gotten worse and worse and worse.  We are definitely in migraine status at this point.  I went back to the doc and she officially diagnosed the migraine, but wanted to have my head scanned because of my history with Lillian's birth (if you really want to read that again, its here (not recommended for any currently pregnant women!)).

I had a CT scan on Tuesday.  It was normal and I was so relieved.  My doc prescribed some different headache meds and they seem to alleviate my pain, but they are not aborting this headache.  I have a feeling a neurologist is the next step.  It has been 4 long weeks, and I can't function like this much longer...

Weaning Woes

The time has come to wean my little Lillian.  She's 11 months now, and preparations for her birthday have already begun.  I've started to wean her little by little, but honestly, it breaks my heart every time I lay her down without nursing her.  She and I, we are so bonded.  She is such a Mama's girl.  I know we will always have that special bond, but some days, the few minutes that I had to nurse her were the only few minutes that we had just the two of us.  Gosh, I'm going to miss that.  She's down to just two feedings a day, once at her morning nap, and once before bed.  And, well, I'd be lying if I said she wasn't nursing at all during the night.  I can't help myself sometimes.  She has yet to actually sleep through the night, and when you are half asleep and just wanting to go back to sleep, the easiest thing is to just feed her, instead of listen to her scream cry for half and hour.

The day before her birthday, Jon and I have a wedding to go to.  I'd really like to be able to go to the wedding sans little people and be ok with Lilly not nursing.  So, we have just a few short weeks left.  The good news is that she has been great with it.  When I weaned her from her afternoon feeding, she was totally good with it.  She didn't cry at all, and went right down to her bed.  That does make it easier.

Gosh, I just love her so much!

Easter Weekend

We had a glorious Easter Weekend.  The weather was so absolutely beautiful!  Jon left work a little early on Friday to take advantage of the sunny day.  Friday was windy, like blow you off your bike windy.  Literally.  We went for a ride to a park that was a little further away and I was literally blown off my bike when we came to a break in the houses.  The girls had fun riding in their new bike trailer though.

Saturday we dyed eggs as a family.  Cecilia had so much fun, and was very particular about which egg should go into the dye and when it should come out.  Lilly wanted to play too, and was a little perturbed that I strapped her into her seat on the other side of the table from the dye.

My parents came down on Saturday afternoon and joined me for the Easter Vigil to complete the Triduum at my church.  It was a wonderful Mass.  It was a smaller group of new Catholics this year, but still wonderful to be apart of.  The most moving part of the mass was when a new mom was baptized while holding her infant baby girl and then she stepped over and had her baby girl baptized too.  It was beautiful!

The Easter Bunny came and hid all of the eggs and the Easter baskets too.  The Easter bunny also found Mrs. Potato Head's eyes in the eggs.  We've been looking for those!  Cecilia needed no help with the egg hunt this year, she was a pro.  Lilly found a few eggs too, and was very content with her two eggs.

We headed down to Ma & Pa's house for yummy food, an egg hunt, and kite flying.  The perfect Easter tradition.  We were blessed with amazing weather and wonderful company!
