The BIG news: WE'RE PREGNANT!!!!! We are so excited to be starting our family. We announced to the family on Christmas Eve before we left, and Mom caught the reaction on video. I am due on July 31, 2009, so probably early August. I have been very nauseous, but not throwing up, and because of this, I have lost 10 pounds since we found out around Thanksgiving. I have also had heartburn like crazy. I am just about done with the first trimester, so I am hoping that the nausea subsides soon.
We got home from Brazil on Monday. It was a fabulous and incredible trip! It was so great to see Ana and her family and to celebrate her graduation from Law School with her. We spent about 5 days on the Beach, 3 days in Sao Paulo, 3 days in Botucatu, and 2 Days in Londrina. The beach was terrific, and very crowded because we were there for new years. Sao Paulo is a ginormous city with incredible buildings, horrendous traffic, and fabulous shopping. Botucatu, Ana's home town, is quaint and relaxing. We also went to on a hike to a water fall and lake while in Botucatu. We partied hard in Londrina for the graduation celebrations- I have never in my life seen such an exquisite and detailed party! I kept a very thorough journal during the trip, and my plan is to put it all on the blog (more for my reference really). We have over 1,700 pictures to go through and organize, some of the highlights are below. It was so much fun, but to note, it is really a bummer to come home from your summer vacation in the middle of winter.
