Surgery Went Well

Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers.  Chic made it through surgery with flying colors.  The doctor did a little bit more work than anticipated, but for the time being, he is good to go.  There is a chance that plack will build up in the same area in the future, but we will cross that bridge if we get there. 

A huge weight has been lifted from our shoulders for the moment.  We learned a lot this week, but had a lot of extra stress due to incomplete/ inaccurate documents.  Here is a word of advice to every single one of you:  I don't care how old you are, what your family situation looks like, or how healthy you think you are, make sure you have those important documents in order.  There are five of them that you should have: living will, medical power of attorney, financial power of attorney, will, and last wishes.  If you have these documents already, kudos to you.  However, if you haven't looked at them in the last two years, or if your relationships have changed recently, I strongly recommend that you review and update if needed.  If you are in Colorado, and you need an attorney to draft these documents for you, I can recommend my Aunt Jenny: The Law Offices of Jennifer S. Gormley.  Please, PLEASE, have these things in order, and do it ASAP!  Its just plain rude to not have these things taken care of.  Oh, and when you get these done, please tell the people that you have named as your agents that they are now responsible for some part of your life and let them know where to find said documents.
